Jeff tells me that I've started overusing the word "ever."
So I started listening to myself this week.
I keep doubling it up in my sentences.
Like "That was the funniest thing I've ever heard ever" or "These pants are the ugliest pants I've ever seen ever" or "This dinner is the worst dinner I've ever cooked ever."
Where did I pick this up from? Because I know this about myself: I am a mimicker. I am. If I am in a room with anyone for more than three minutes, I subconsciously begin to imitate every single thing they do. Which explains why, after spending last weekend with Jo-Anne, I now sound like a British woman. It also explains why a year living in Nashville brought on my southern accent hardcore. Jeff says I've begun adding extra syllables to the word "excited." In our house, it has become "I'm so EX SIGH TUH DUH"
So I figure that I must have picked up this "ever" thing from somewhere. Like a movie. Or all those episodes of Law and Order I've been watching. Not from Hannah Montana. I never watch that.
