The Twelve Days Of Christmas Shipping, Holiday Happiness & a $50 Gift Card Giveaway!)

There are twelve shipping days left until Christmas. I know, I felt slightly panicked as I read that too. Because I am awful at mailing things. Honestly, just awful at it. And I really dislike going to the post office, for no other reason than I have to make a lot of left hand turns across traffic to get there. I do not like making left hand turns. Like Derek Zoolander, I am not an ambiturner. There is a UPS Store fairly close to my house though. I actually have to drive past the post office to get to it but this holiday season The UPS Store is offering this super cute free video app service you can add to your packages and that plus the … [Read more...]

Childhood Christmas Traditions: Then and Now (Macy’s Gift Card Giveaway!)

When I was a kid we had a bit of an elaborate Christmas celebration. On Christmas morning, after all of the gifts from Santa were opened, we packed up the car and drove to Tennessee to spend the rest of the holiday with my grandparents. The whole family came, from my great-aunts and uncles to all my cousins. And after our Christmas dinner, before we could open any presents, we held a family Christmas cantata. I'm very serious. My grandfather read the Christmas story and each of us were assigned a carol to sing at certain portions of the song. Mine was Away in a Manger, as evidenced by this computer printout of the family cantata scheduled … [Read more...]

Every year I take a week in November to designate as my Reader Appreciation Week, because I really do want y'all to know how much I value the time you spend visiting and reading here. Seriously, just this week you were so kind to share our story on World Prematurity Day that it was picked up by The Huffington Post. Anyhow, every year I ask a few of my favorite brands to partner with me and offer some great discounts and giveaways just for y'all! This year I decided … [Read more...]

Written In The Stars: A $50 Everlasting Light Collection Giveaway

I LOVE these letterpress words from Dayspring!

Every year I partner with DaySpring to offer a big giveaway and some special coupon codes before the holiday season. This year they are premiering the new Everlasting Light Collection and y'all, it is beautiful AND I have a $50 credit to give away! Links are affiliates. My favorite of the classic paintings is Van Gogh's Starry Night. I mean, I know technically it is not "classic" but "post-impressionist" and all that but I mean in general, it is my favorite of the paintings of great artists that you study in school. Which is a bit cliche of a choice probably, however, I distinctly remember enjoying the lesson on pointillism and being … [Read more...]

Carter’s Back To School Coupon + Gift Card Giveaway!

cute back to school outfits for preschool girls from Carters

I am so excited to be guest pinning for Carter's on their Tomboy Chic board this month! I partnered with Carter's to shop for Scarlette's fall wardrobe and share a coupon code + gift card giveaway with y'all! Here is a peek at everything we purchased, because it was a very fun excuse to have a fun dance party/photo shoot. Plus it was raining and we had already exhausted all of our indoor activities by ten forty three in the morning. For size reference, Scarlette is 3 years old, just under 3 feet tall and weighs 26 pounds. All of the pants/skirts are size 18 months and the tops are all 24 months or 2T. My approach to shopping for Scarlette … [Read more...]

Before & After : Bench Turned Toddler Table (+ a $100 Gift Card Giveaway c/o Glidden!)

Glidden Duo Paint Blue #sponsored

I am constantly in the middle of a project around here, much to my husband's chagrin. He's the type of guy that likes to carefully plan out a project and then meticulously see it through to completion. I, on the other hand, tend to think up random DIY projects and drag furniture out onto our back porch to drill and paint on a whim. I prefer to call this "creative genius" whereas he likes to refer to it as "utter chaos." I have no idea what he is talking about. That is how this little bench that has been in my family for as long as I can remember ended up on the back porch. Because Glidden asked if I wanted to paint something and … [Read more...]

GIVEAWAY: Kidde Worry-Free Smoke Alarm (& Grown Up Lessons About Fire Safety)

Kidde Worry Free Smoke Alarms #sponsored

(Disclosure: I wrote this post in partnership with Kidde, all words and opinions are my own and you can leave a comment at the end to enter the giveaway) A couple of weeks ago we had our neighbors over for dinner and we kind of had a teeny, tiny, small little kitchen fire. Yeah. Probably our neighbors will be declining all further invitations to dine with us. We were incredibly lucky that we were able to get things under control quickly, although it did take the rest of the night to air the kitchen out. We ended up moving our table and chairs outside and dining al fresco so that we could finish our meal in the fresh air. Like I said, our … [Read more...]

Fly Away: Good Reads & A $100 Visa Gift Card Giveaway

Book Review: Fly Away by Kristin Hannah sponsored post

Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors. I loved her novel Firefly Lane and was excited to review Fly Away, in partnership with BlogHer. Get to read a book by one of my favorite authors and give away a $100 Visa gift card to one of my readers? Please and thank you. It's totally not an April Fool's joke. The story in Fly Away is centered on friendship, the kind of unbreakable bond that is forged over a lifetime of sharing secrets and the kinds of relationships that remind me of these girls:  The friends that stand up with you at the altar to share your joy and stand by you in a hospital room to share your grieving. The ones who have … [Read more...]

Get More Target Coupons with Cartwheel + $1,000 Target GiftCard® Giveaway!

how to use target cartwheel app, target cartwheel app reviews, target cartwheel app tips

I'm doing cartwheels over my first giveaway for 2014: A $1,000 Target GiftCard®! (Cartwheels. See what I did there? I crack myself up.) As a girl who  loves her a good sale, I've been using the new Target Cartwheel app for months. Long before they contacted me about writing this post I was tapping away on my phone to pull up extra coupons. I love mobile coupons because they are so convenient. Plus, I hate using scissors. I cannot cut things in a straight line to save my life, not to mention that I hate how much ink is used when printing out coupons. And mobile coupons means that my "helper" cannot "help" me with my coupons. And by … [Read more...]
