1) Have I ever told y’all that I put together a beautiful playlist for Scarlette’s birth? It was all pretty, soft, soothing music. Except I went into labor like, 15 weeks early and so Scarlette was born to the playlist that the anesthesiologist had hooked up to the OR speakers. Which consisted solely of music by Michael Jackson and Celine Dion. I know. Jeff came in and leaned over me and was all “How are you? Are you feeling okay? Is that Michael Jackson playing in the background?”
2) I saw someone wearing straight-from-the-infomercial pajama jeans in real life last week. And I couldn’t stop looking at them. I was like “they’re pajamas…but they’re jeans!” It was a magical moment.
3) Scarlette had a new roommate again yesterday and I was sharing my birth story with the other mother since she’d asked. When I got to the part about how I didn’t realize that I was in early labor, she interrupted me and sweetly said “Well, that’s understandable honey, being a teen mom and all.” And I was all, “Um no, I’m twenty seven, I just never had any contractions…” Awkward.
4) I take my Snuggie to the hospital. Don’t judge me.
5) As promised, the world’s cutest video of my two and a half year old niece beating me at Just Dance 2. I really like when she realizes that I’m filming her, stops and says “cheese!”
(semi official disclaimer stuff: while I am affiliated with Nintendo, they did not send me this game or ask me to post this video. Both the game and the world’s cutest two and a half year old belong to my sister, the one giggling like a schoolgirl in the background.)
