Ten years ago I was watching the world change on a thirteen inch screen in my freshman dorm room.
I was eighteen when the towers fell.
Until that moment, I had never thought I was anything but completely safe and secure in my country.
Ten years later, as Jeff and I prepared for our first night away from our daughter, I hesitated with fear at the thought of being away from her on the anniversary of 9/11.
And that was when I really knew that it didn’t just impact me deeply at the time.
It is with me forever.
And so we continue to honor the fallen.
