I had never heard of PomTree Kids before but when they invited me to try them out I said yes because Scarlette loves crafts. Or as she likes to call them “CWAP”
Seriously, this video is of her opening the box that arrived full of PomTreeKids products:
I also said yes because they billed themselves as “no glue, no mess” and since most of Scarlette’s attempts at using glue have failed spectacularly (by which I mean GLUE EVERYWHERE, Y’ALL) I was all about that. We ramp up craft time around here once the weather turns cool so I was happy to have some projects that she could work on independently.
All of these shapes are made from foam or felt and have sticky backing so she can put them wherever she wants without any sort of gluing going on. Of course, that does mean that I found several felt ladybugs stuck to my nightstand but that’s much more manageable than that one time she squirted glue all over my living room curtains. We made some bookmarks to give as gifts to her grandparents and a fun little playset that has foam pieces she can snap together.
Look at her trying to sneak off with it before I can get a picture:
I did not dress my child up in lots of different outfits to take photos for this post, I’ve just been snapping pictures at different times when she’s been playing with the set. She really loves it, she asks me constantly if she can “do shum cwaps wite nao” so it’s getting great mileage in our house. Sometimes Daddy does cwaps. Also, please enjoy how Scarlette felt the need to put on her pretend reading glasses in order to thread beads on a chenille stick.
We had Scarlette’s birthday celebration at her preschool a few weeks early. The night before I realized that I had not put together any goodie bags. Luckily, I am a hoarder and so this sort of thing is not a problem for me.
I’m totally serious.
I had a set of mini crayon boxes that I had picked up on the 90% off Valentine’s Day clearance (I KNEW they would come in handy!) as well as some leftover cellophane bags from a project I did like, four years ago. I let Scarlette open up one of the containers of felt and foam stickers and had her separate them into matching piles and then put one of each sticker into the goodies bags. Then I punched a hole in some Jenni Bowlin Studio tickets I had in my scrapbooking stash and wrote ♥Scarlette on all of them.
It was so easy and inexpensive. I mean, the kids in her class are two. They don’t need elaborate goodie bags, they’ll be totally happy with a bunch of fun, textured stickers and I’ll be totally happy that they came out cute and didn’t cost me a fortune.
Seriously, I’m sold on these. I think they make great gifts and they are keeping my toddler entertained long enough for me to eat an entire bagel. THAT IS THE GIFT RIGHT THERE, Y’ALL.

(Pom Tree Kids provided the craft set and compensation for this post but all opinions are my own. And all art is Scarlette’s, obviously. I mean, they were probably expecting something a little more polished from me but I believe in letting my kid do her own work, y’all.)
