No, seriously. You can't stay here.
I want to tell you about something that annoys me on a weekly basis. Closing time. Not the song. Like, the actual time that places close.
The model home that I work out of is the main sales office. There is a big, huge, massive sign out front that says it closes at 6pm.
I can not even tell you the number of people who come in at 10 minutes til six and want to talk to one of the sales agent about buying a house.
Note to everyone: you can't buy a house in ten minutes. It's physically impossible. You can't even browse all the houses that are for sale in ten minutes. Oh, I know you want to, because you come to the sales office at ten minutes to six and ask if you can look at all of the houses for sale. Sure you can. But if you do, you're going to be there past six.
And you know this. You know, logically, that you can't pick a house in ten minutes. You know when you pull up with ten minutes on the clock that you're essentially demanding that someone stay late to accomodate you. And not a few minutes late either. Because buying a house? It's a big deal. And it takes you a REALLY LONG TIME. As in, hours. Not minutes.
Here are some things that are acceptable to do ten minutes prior to closing time: grab a gallon of milk, drop off your dry cleaning, pick up Patty from Pre-K.
Here are some things that are not acceptable to do ten minutes prior to closing time: have your hair cut, take the car in for a tune up, BUY A HOUSE.
(I'm not alone here, right?)
