My sister and I got in trouble all the time when we were little. Our parents would send us to our rooms as punishment. Her room was separated from mine by a door. "Shut the door, they would tell us, and no talking". After all, we were in trouble.
Except the door had been hung wrong and there was an inch wide gap between it's bottom and the floor.
Which is how we played gin rummy. We got very good at silent gin rummy.
