Disclaimer: this post was written while experiencing severe PMS.
I have a really fun blog post for y'all about a herd of wild chihuahuas wearing t-shirts (I know, right?) but have a few things I wanted to address first.
Thing number one: I got this question on formspring asking why I never reply to comments here, and I was all WHAT?! Because I reply via email to almost every single comment I receive. And after a little sleuthing (thanks twitter friends) we've deduced that some of y'all are not getting my emails. I just wanted to let you all know that if you haven't heard from me it is because either a) I am a little over a week behind on my replies right now or b) my email is being caught in some spam filters.
I'm going to look into fixing that! I can't believe this has been happening and I was unaware! I know that some of you comment/email very personal things when sharing your experiences with me and I am grateful for that, and would hate for you to think that I am ignoring those comments.
Thing number two: I put myself out there to the internet and I am comfortable with that. I know that means that I am telling my story to people who will all have a variety of opinions and I welcome that. I learn from that. I don't mind dissenting opinions and have had some lovely email discussions with people who think differently than I do.
However, if you feel the need to send me hateful anonymous email, please don't bother. If you feel so strongly that you need to send an email telling me to "stop having a pity party and just adopt one of the millions of kids that needs a home" then you know what? I welcome your financial contributions to make that happen. Otherwise, don't write me again.
Also? You owe me a red velvet cake. You sent that email the same day I started my period (hello too much information) and thus, I ate the entire thing. My poor husband didn't get a single slice, he just wandered into the office holding the empty pan of crumbs and stared at me in amazement.
