Jeanette's kids love my husband. LOVE him. When we lived near them, her youngest asked me why Jeff had to go home with me every night. "Because he is married to me and so he lives with me" I told her. She thought about that and then informed me that if Jeff married her, he could just live at their house. Like I said, she really loves him. And honestly, I get that. Because I really like that guy too.
Sometimes at work she'd wander downstairs and tug on his shirt while he was listening to his iPod. "Jeff, she'd ask, can I share your music?" And then we'd find them sitting side by side, sharing the iPod headphones while he invoiced orders. And in case you were wondering, yes that little scene did make my ovaries practically jump out of my body.
So while I was visiting this weekend, she asked to talk to Jeff when I called home. After their conversation, she was showing me all of her bracelets. Apparently, the new thing in kindergarten are these plastic, animal shaped bracelets that you trade with your friends.
"How about I trade you this bracelet for your ring?" she asked, offering me a pink rubber bracelet shaped like a poodle. While it was very tempting, the ring in consideration happened to be my engagement ring and I was pretty sure that wasn't a fair trade. "I can't trade my ring for a bracelet, I told her, I have to keep it."
Then she screwed up her face and said "Okay, then how about I trade you this bracelet and the dinosaur one for Jeff?"
