I have never been a very bold person. I know this comes a surprise to you on account of how I used to rock this look.
But for the most part, I’m not a big risk-taker. I am more like “Let’s analyze all of the risks and then deem this too risky and not do it at all ever, actually” sort of person. Basically, I am the most fun person at an amusement park ever. I mean, everyone likes to take that one friend who just stands at the bottom of all the roller coaster rides and holds their stuff for them. I am very good at that role.
Mostly because I am not particularly fond of heights or the idea of going up really high in the air and then hurling myself towards the ground at breakneck speeds.
One of the things that I love most about blogging is the opportunity it has afforded me to travel and recently Southeast Toyota approached me to see if I was interested in allowing them to sponsor a trip to send me on a bold adventure.
Probably most people would say “YES OF COURSE I AM INTERESTED IN GOING ON A BOLD ADVENTURE WHY DO YOU EVEN NEED TO ASK THAT QUESTION?”
But me, I was like “What kind of bold are we talking here? Like, southern barbecue bold or jalapeño pepper bold? I will need more information on the level of boldness that is going to happen on said a venture.”
And then they were like “Well, HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO DIVE WITH SHARKS?”
And I was like “I would like that as much of an amount as someone can really not like something and then even more than that. Goodbye forever.”
And then they said “Okay it doesn’t have to be sharks! You could go on a hot air balloon ride!”
And then I was like “This sounds totally great if by hot air balloon ride you mean that I can stand in the basket of a beautiful, hot air balloon that is very securely tethered directly to the ground!”
I am delightful to work with.
But the more I thought about it, the more I really wanted to do something bold and adventurous. I don’t want to pass up amazing opportunities like this because I am a too afraid to take risks that could pan out to be something incredible.
And so I said yes. Not the the hot air balloon ride, I mean, I’m not crazy. But to something pretty bold for a girl who is afraid of heights.
And we booked a trip for me to take on a bold, new adventure.
And I leave in like, an hour.
So if you want to follow along to see where I go and what I ended up choosing, follow me here on Instagram (or you can follow the hashtag #KAwanderlust to see only trip pictures!)
I think it is going to be amazing.
What is the boldest thing you’ve ever done?
Disclosure: This post is not compensated and actually they didn’t even ask me to write this particular posts but my trip costs were generously covered by Southeast Toyota and so the FTC says I have to put this disclosure here and so I did because I AM A RULE FOLLOWER WHO DOES NOT TAKE RISKS, obviously.
