A couple of months ago I filmed this little video (with the help of my new friends Crystal & Monique) to serve as an introduction on the homepage of this site. You know, so that in the future if people stop by I can be all “Nice to meet you, where you been, I can show you some fairly average things.” 😉
(And also so that in the coming months as I start to gear up for the release of my first book I have something to show people when they are like “who are you?”)
I intended to put it up in the new year, marking my intentional, goal-oriented entrance into 2015. And then Scarlette came down with a seven week run of bronchiolitis and now it is nearly March. So you know, priorities. AND ALSO HAND SANITIZER. ALL THE SANITIZER.
(On the plus side, this is the first year post-NICU discharge that we have not had a winter hospital admission! AMEN.)
I’ll be doing a more in-depth video series on my heart for the book and what the writing process has been like but this is a little glimpse into why I wrote the book, what life looks like around here right now and the story I hope to craft both in life and on paper in the future.
Plus, the blooper reel showcases just how awkward I am on camera. And I don’t mean like, Zooey Deschanel awkward where awkward actually means “cute and endearing and let’s pay her all the monies to be on our televisions!” I just mean straight up awkward.
(I filmed it anyway and then put it on the internet which means that, you know, it’s gonna be forever or it’s gonna go down in flames.)
(I know. I will stop with the Taylor Swift references.)
