The other day Jeff posed a seemingly innocent question that sparked this conversation:
J: Hey, where is the little white dish?
KA: I have it. Why?
J: Um…because I need to feed Heidi.
*insert horrified silence here*
KA: Jeff. Why are you going to use that dish?
J: Because that is her food dish.
KA: WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT IS HER FOOD DISH?
J: Just what I said, that is her food dish.
KA: How is that her food dish? I have been feeding her in the little paper dishes I saw you use to feed her!
J: Oh, that was just once. The little white dish is her normal food dish.
KA: THE DISH THAT I AM CURRENTLY EATING OFF OF IS THE CAT FOOD DISH?
This may not seem horrifying to you, but I can not stand for people dishes and pet dishes to mix. I can not even use a people spoon to spoon out pet food. I can't stand for pet food to be prepared anywhere near people food. And I can not deal with people food being served on a plate that was previously eaten off of by an animal. I am an animal lover. I have pets. But they have pet food bowls for a reason. So that I don't inadvertantly eat off of them. Gross.
