Now that I have Mommy Friends, one of my favorite things to do is host playdates. Scarlette loves to have friends over and I love it when my house is full of of laughter and little feet running around. So I said yes when Pampers asked me if I wanted to host a party because I figured it was a great excuse to have people over and also because sometimes the perks of blogging means I get to bless my friends with things like free diapers and wipes. Gift giving is my love language, y’all.
The theme of the party was supposed to be Baby’s Firsts, to go along with a new video that Pampers has released celebrating all of the “first” moments parents experience with their babies. I pulled out some of Scarlette’s firsts to decorate with, like her first footprint that measures just over one inch long. Pampers is the number one choice of hospitals in North America and they makes the micro-preemie diapers that are used in the NICU and so I also pulled out Scarlette’s first diaper, a tiny little Pampers diaper which is the same size as a credit card.
(Scarlette was so tiny at birth that we had to fold this diaper in half when we put it on her because otherwise it went all the way up to her neck.)
Everyone brought some food to share and then we all let the kids eat and play while we drank copious amounts of coffee and chit-chatted. Also, I am not very good at fitting everyone into one picture when I am trying to take pictures with the camera remote, hence half the cut off baby and three people who are missing from this photo. I am also not very good at doing that thing where you surreptitiously hide said remote while taking the picture.
And then I took pictures of other people’s cute kids because my friends make cute babies. Also, Batman comes to my parties.
Pampers sent a bunch of swag to share and since their Pampers Swaddlers now go through a size six (because a bunch of moms wrote in and requested the Swaddlers in larger sizes) everyone went home with a fun swag bag full of diapers, wipes and a gift card.
We took the leftover sizes and put together a bag full of baby goodies to gift to an expectant mom in our MOPS group.
Speaking of giving things away, if you use Pampers and join their free Pampers Rewards program you can exchange your rewards for cool products OR you can do what we did with ours and donate them to the Graham’s Foundation, which sends care packages to parents of micro-preemies. (I would love for you to spend your points with them, the care package we received from the Graham’s Foundation when Scarlette was in the NICU was so incredibly helpful to us in those confusing early days.)
You can earn reward points for writing a review of the products you like best at PampersFirsts.com and you can also upload your own “firsts” pictures and create a highlight video of your baby’s first milestone moments to share on facebook!
Do looking at all these photos make you want to come to my house and straighten all of my pictures frames? Yeah me too.
We all watched this #PampersFirsts video together during the party and awww-ed over the sweet moments. (And then we added in a few of our own, like the first time your baby pees on you AS YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF PUTTING A NEW DIAPER ON.)
