Last year for Father’s Day I found this free collection of vintage printable blueprints for everything from bicycles to airplanes to cameras. Because my husband and his father are both really passionate about playing guitar (his dad has an entire room devoted to it!) I decided to print out a few of the different guitar blueprints and frame them as Father’s Day gifts.
The blueprints themselves are free to download! You can print them at home and pop them in a frame you already own and voila! Free gift!
I had mine printed at Staples on a glossy card stock and then put them in this frame from Target (which is currently 10% off with the code DADSDAY. I mean, IT’S LIKE THEM KNOW ME.) The printing at Staples was less than a dollar a piece and I picked up the frames on sale so it was still a good, budget-friendly gift but one that I think my husband and his dad really enjoyed.
After I framed ours last year I shared the link to the blueprints with some friends and a bunch of them decided to do it too. So then we started a long text chain sharing pictures of all of the different framed prints we put together and it was so fun to see all of the different hobbies our husbands have!
So there you go, if you’re looking for a last minute Father’s Day gift but want it to be budget-friendly and meaningful, this one was a hit (no pun intended!) in our house.
(Oh, and if you wanted another idea really great Father’s Day gift idea, I highly recommend this book. I mean, sure it’s not your typical Father’s Day fare but it’s not YOUR dad I’m thinking about here. It’s mine. It would totally make my dad’s Father’s Day if you bought this ;))
