One of my favorite things in Ridley’s room is this letterpress monogram block. I played with a few different arrangements of this space but I just keep coming back to my love of monograms. Maybe it’s because I’m southern or maybe it’s because of all the years I spent idolizing Ali Edwards but monograms are my jam.
My grandmother gave me the distressed R and the letterpress R came from DaySpring. I actually pulled it out of a set where you can create your own words and I have a super great tip about that.
The set itself is usually $119 but it is on sale until tomorrow for just $50. I’m an affiliate partner so I got to snap it up a couple of weeks ago and I seriously love it because! BECAUSE! Because of the wonderful things it does! (I’m sorry, I may have watched a lot of Wizard of Oz with the five year old recently.) But it does do wonderful things, like how you can make several different words out of one set so I broke my set up into a few different words to give away as gifts.
I kept a few of the letters as monograms for myself (like the R) and will give the ones that didn’t fit into word sets away as monogram gifts as well. At $50 for the entire set, that is a total steal and a huge help to my gift budget this year.
(That starburst mirror is another DaySpring find. I love that it has Phillipians 2:15 etched on it – “You will shine like stars in the sky.”)
There are two letterpress word sets on sale right now – the HOME set and the INSPIRATIONAL set, which is the one I got. I totally recommend picking up a set and breaking it up into individual gifts.
I love the idea of putting them on the mantel and switching out words for each season. I can not actually execute this idea on account of how there is a giant television over my mantel because of marital compromise but please feel free to do it and let me live vicariously through you. Then I will just stare longingly at your pinterest boards showing off your beautifully decorated mantel with your letterpress words and remind myself that allowing my husband to hang a massive television over the focal point of our living room was an act of sacrificial love, even though what I want is for it to look like this:
(le sigh)
The sets come with special mounts so that you can either just stand them up or hang them on the wall. You just lay them out however you want the letters to be positioned
And then you clip these little coo-hickeys (I’m very professional) into the grooves on the back. It’s super easy but not permanent so that you can rearrange and customize your words however you like.
This is probably one of my best budget gift finds of the year – DaySpring carries the individual letters and words too and just the word faith is $48 on it’s own, so getting 11 different options out of one set at $50 is just good math sense.
And that’s my favorite find for the month of August! I meant to put this up last week so that you could take advantage of the 60% off sale but you know, my baby doesn’t like to sleep. Better late than never 😉
