I am a little bit obsessed with apple cider. Last weekend we drove up to the mountains to go apple picking, which is one of our favorite fall family activities.
The orchard we visited had a ton of activities for kids and Scarlette kept running from one thing to the next and yelling, “Oh that one! I HAVE to do that one!” She also did the zipline over and over again, because unlike me as a child she has no fear. And then per her request we watched the cloggers dance and I told her a very inspirational story about my childhood and the days spent as clogger when I was a little girl. Specifically all nine of them until they kicked me out because I have no rhythm.
It was such a fun day and we even ran into a blog reader (hi Sara!) which was fun because it’s always nice to put names to faces!
But what we look the most forward to is stocking up on fresh apple cider. The apple cider we picked up two years ago just outside of Asheville, North Carolina still ranks at the very top of our list in our yearly quest to find the best apple cider in the south. And don’t even get me started on apple cider slushies. Did you know this was a thing? Because it is a thing and it is amazing.
I’m sort of about apple cider the way other people are about pumpkins once autumn rolls around. I drink hot caramel apple cider in the mornings. I light apple cider scented candles so that my house will smell like an orchard. And this week I made apple cider pancakes for breakfast three days in a row.
I mean, okay, so that is partially because I love apple cider and partially because we picked a lot of apples at that orchard and now I need to find creative solutions of things to do with them. I may have gotten a little overzealous in my enthusiasm for apple picking.
And then I may have gotten a little bit carried away with my whole apple cider theme.
You’re not hardcore until you live hardcore.
This week I took advantage of the fall special at Grove Collaborative and ordered their entire cleaning set of Mrs. Meyer’s products in Apple Cider. Now my house smells like I am constantly cooking up something delicious and it’s clean. I am a genius, basically.
(But seriously, if you can tell me how to make a perfect apple cider slushie at home, I want to hear it.)
In the coming weeks I have a few fun partnerships to share some great deals as we head into the holidays! Grove Collaborative is one of my favorite ways to manage our household, bath, and baby supplies (I use them every month) and almost every season they offer a special gift with purchase bonus! Right now when you place an order totaling twenty dollars, you’ll get everything below (a $30+ value) for free.
Here’s what’s included:
(Existing customers get the set 50% off. I had already ordered the mum scented set but can not pass up 50% off on household cleaning supplies.)
You can choose from the Apple Cider or Mum scents and you can pick and choose which items you’d like in the rest of your basket (personally, I recommend the Grove Co. soy candles!) And since everyone can always use household supplies, this is a great way to stock up and get $30 worth totally free.
These sets make excellent seasonally themed hostess gifts or for all that Thanksgiving party prep. But they only have a limited quantity at this special deal (it’s just for readers of a few select bloggers, lucky us!) so get yours while supplies last!
