This past Saturday the girls and I went to a private shopping event at HomeGoods. There is nothing better than going shopping with your girlfriends except for maybe going shopping with your girlfriends and having someone else pick up the tab. And also giving you coffee. And also? Giving you a $100 giftcard to give away to one of your blog readers. What what?! Keep reading to see what the girls and I bought and then enter to win a giftcard for yourself!
HomeGoods generously gave us each a giftcard to shop with and we were able to tour the new Atlanta store before it opened. I planned on shopping for the baby's room but got waylaid in the bedding section because it was full of decorative pillows that were totally affordable and I was all PILLOWS! FOR! THE! GUEST BED!
And once I went down that aisle of goodness, there was no coming back. Oh well. You know what they say. The best laid plans of mice and girls with a half renovated house. Or something like that.
There were so many pillows to choose from that I had to turn to my design consultants. Tiff and Shawnie were helpful but Aidan and Wyatt really clenched the decision. Those guys have great taste. Move over Nate Berkus, there's some new kids in town. Literally.
Here we are in all our we-left-the-house-at-six-am-to-drive-to-Atlanta-for-this-shopping-trip glory. Jana left with a storage bench, Nat gave her bathroom a makeover and Shawn stocked up on beach towels. Tiffani and I hit the kitchen section and grabbed some gluten free items. I almost bought those tiny little chairs because as you know, I really like miniature things. At the last minute I decided that because I have no friends who are leprechauns (alas) it would be more practical to get a lamp. That's not what happened. What happened was, I saw this pretty crystal lamp and I was all "Ooooo shiny! Want shiny lamp!" because I am like a bird. I'm really attracted to things that sparkle. This is probably the reason behind my intense love of Christmas tinsel and Edward Cullen.
So here's a look at what I came home with:
Two throw pillows, a teal lidded basket in which I plan to stash all of the baby's toys that make annoying noises, an oversized teal frame, a crystal lamp base and a girly grey shade, and several bags of soup mixes. My total came to just over $100, which I happily handed over my giftcard for. I also may have danced around the cash register and created somewhat of an awkward moment for the cashier but I will neither confirm nor deny such an allegation. Okay fine, yes I did.
I'm really excited because pending the arrival of a white bookcase for my birthday and another pillow, the office/guest room makeover will be complete. And I totally think the yellow/white/teal combination is going to work with the dark blue walls, which is really easing my regret over painting them that color to begin with.
