Jeff, Scarlette and I spent Thanksgiving watching the Macy’s parade and putting up our Christmas tree. Scarlette loved the singing and dancing part of the parade, she’s a very theatrical girl. I have no idea where she gets that from. Probably her dad. He’s very dramatic. Oh no, wait, that’s me.
On Friday I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to do some online Black Friday shopping. Apparently, Scarlette decided she didn’t want to miss out on the sales so she woke up at 3:45 all like “HEY! I’M AWAKE! I’M SUPER DUPER AWAKE! HOW BOUT YOU PLAY WITH ME NOW?! I’M ABSOLUTELY NOT GOING TO GO BACK TO SLEEP!” And then I died.
Actually, I drank a huge cup of coffee and then Jeff and I had a date. We went to a movie. Do you know how long it’s been since we’ve been to a movie? Here’s a hint: I could have birthed two children since the last time we stepped into a theater.
Which is why I had no idea that movies were so expensive these days. The people in front of us in line had two kids and paid almost $40 for their movie tickets. FORTY DOLLARS! I had to look around to make sure were actually at the movie theater and not in line to buy an organ on the black market or something. We had free tickets + a $10 concession gift card and we STILL had to pay $3 for popcorn and a drink.
You better believe I went back for my free refill. Saturday morning Jeff was like “Are you still drinking that Coke from the movie theater?” and I was all “I WANT MY MONEY’S WORTH JEFF.”
After that we came home and Jeff took over baby duty while I read the entire trilogy of The Hunger Games. It was amazing. Both the series AND the me-time.
We looked at Scarlette’s pictures from last Thanksgiving and we gave thanks for much. So much.
I hope y’all had a lovely weekend as well!
