First, thanks so much for the registry tips! We compiled a list of your suggestions and took it with us this weekend. I found it so helpful in the midst of a really overwhelming experience.
On Sunday I was lucky to play hostess and invite a bunch of friends to a Nintendo Wii party at the W Hotel here in Atlanta. Here is what I would like to tell you:
1) Jeff and I got trapped in the elevator for about 3 minutes. Not because the elevator was broken. Because the W Hotel is swanky and some guy in an earpiece had to come put in a special code to take us up to our floor. But for those 3 minutes? I was totally picturing the commercials for that new M. Night Shymylan movie.
2) I showed some of the Nintendo people my belly button. Everyone was in agreeance that photos of said belly button were too creepy for the internet. Also, when meeting people from a big corporation like Nintendo, it’s a good idea to show them your freakish pregnant belly button.
3) I’m pretty sure the guy and his posse standing next to us as we waited for the valet were professional wrestlers. It also could have been the cast of the Jersey Shore. It was hard to tell.
Nintendo set up a bunch of Wii’s for us to play, fed us an amazing lunch, gave away some awesome party favors and had a fun Q/A session on heart health. Turns out, I’m really good at wakeboarding on the Wii, which is great seeing as how in real life I’m terrified of water, boats and the idea of being pulled behind a boat while on the water. In related news, I like to sing my own cleaned-up version of “I’m On A Boat” during this game.
I got to do this event because I’ve teamed up with Nintendo and The American Heart Association to promote healthy living via their active play Wii games. I’m super excited about this because a) I love the Wii b) they let me try new Wii products but don’t require me to write blog posts about it and c) I get to giveaway Nintendo stuff to y’all!
So be sure to stop by the blog tomorrow, because I have some new Wii games to give away! I have to get my giveaway section of the site setup tonight and then we’ll be good to go!
(Disclaimer: As a Nintendo Brand Ambassador, I got to go to the party but I wasn’t asked to blog about it and the opinions are my own. I’m blogging about it because it was fun and that’s a decent picture of me)
