I’ve been wanting to play along with What I Wore Wednesday for awhile now but seriously could not get my act together to take my picture every day. I finally had some motivation in the form of the in-depth closet purge/wardrobe building I’ve been trying to accomplish courtesy of my friend Hayley’s book The No-Brainer Wardrobe. And also that my friend Ashley took some pictures of me and Scarlette 😉 And plus also, I think this will be a fun insert for my Project Life album, that I really am doing but am super behind in posting photos of it online.
So here is my first foray into What I Wore Wednesday although it’s so much fun to dress Scarlette, I decided to stick her in them too. Besides, What We Wore Wednesday has great alliteration and we all know that I love me some good alliteration. Grammar, though, I don’t care much about. Also, this is a great look at the evolution of a spray tan over the course of a week. Plus, you are now witness to the fact that I did indeed wear my hair in a Kelly Kapowski-esque side ponytail. I know, right? You. Are. Welcome.
Click through for commentary and to see the list of wear everything is from – although I’ll warn you that half my stuff is older, half is from Kohl’s because I got a gift card for Mother’s Day and 95% of Scarlette’s clothes are hand-me-downs from my nieces.
Day One: Baby Shower
Jeans: Kohl’s | Shirt: Urban Outfitters | Cardigan: Hollister | Necklace: The Hope Pendant by Matt28six | Crown Jewel Bobby Pins: The Redeemed Collection by Dayspring | Shoes: The Webster Miami for Target which I bought solely (no pun intended) because they look like something Princess Kate would wear. I did not realize that they were quite so high (almost six inches!) but I love them.
Day Two: Photo Session
Dress: Kohl’s | Shoes: Kohl’s | Necklace: Lisa Leonard Designs | Ring: Borrowed from my mother, who refuses to give it to me despite all of my begging. Scarlette’s headband is from Garden Party by Snugars. I tend to splurge on her headbands since most of her clothes are hand-me-downs.
Day Three: Running Errands
Dress: Target Clearance (go see if this is still there, it was about $5 and so comfortable!) | Shoes: Coach but they were a gift from my mother like, three years ago | Sunglasses: Target | Side Ponytail: Kelly Kapowski circa 1989 Scarlette’s shirt is from Amy Tangerine
Day Four: Back To Back Therapy Sessions
Jeans: Kohl’s | Tank: Converse (also Target Clearance) | Shirt: AE Favorite Scoop Tee. These are my favorite, this one is like, three tears old | Shoes: Gift from my friend Cherany| Earrings: Forever 21
Day Five: Hanging Out At Home And Not Expecting The UPS Man
Tank Tops: Target Clearance (I can’t pay more than a couple of dollars for tank tops. I am really cheap.) | PJ Shorts: Kohl’s | Flip Flops: A gift from my friend Katie, who put swarovski crystals on them. That right there is why we are friends.
Day Six: Play Date
Top: Hollister | Shorts: Kohl’s | Shoes: Ross
Scarlette’s shirt is from Amy Tangerine. Can you believe she is wearing tennis shoes? I discovered that silver glitter is the secret to getting her to wear tennis shoes. She likes her shoes to sparkle.
