Remember how yesterday I mentioned that I’m totally at war with the ants in my house and how I was contemplating marching around our home singing “Joshua Fought The Battle Of Jericho” in order to defeat them? I figured that would be easier than a slingshot a la David & Goliath. Besides, since I’m way bigger than the ants I definitely didn’t want to take any chances of them getting their little ant-hands on my slingshot.
Well, I’ve been following along with the devotional at #SHEREADSTRUTH and do you know what today’s scripture is?
“God spoke to Joshua, “Look sharp now. I’ve already given Jericho to you, along with its king and its troops. Here’s what you are to do: March around the city, all your soldiers…On the seventh day march around the city seven times, the priests blowing away on the trumpets… all the people are to shout at the top of their lungs. The city wall will collapse at once…”
That is STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BIBLE, Y’ALL. Obviously the Lord is trying to tell me something. Maybe something like “I invented ant baits for this, go to Home Depot and quit bugging me” but still. Probably I should reflect on this, because actually all I really know about the story of Joshua I learned from The Veggie Tales. That can’t be good.
