Scarlette loves music. Loves it. She must get the musical gene from her daddy. She has some CDs (thanks Mimi!) of lullabies and bible story songs that get played over and over. Jeff and I decided to burn her some CDs to rotate into the mix. Mine had lots of happy, upbeat songs that she watches me dance around to while I sing them to her.
I did not know what was on Jeff's CD.
I put it in for her first thing when I arrived at the hospital and was immediately reduced to a blubbering mess as it started playing these lyrics:
So I went to the hospital with my heart all choked up tight
And I prayed while I drove, praying you would be alright
If you hold my hand, can you hold on for a moment longer
If you know I love you, does it make it better?
Don't give up, don't give in, we can make it together
Because life is worth fighting for
I know. I know. Are you crying too? Because the nurses and I were completely misty eyed. Seriously, someone should warn a girl that they made a CD of the most heart wrenching songs EVER to be played to their sick baby in the hospital.
