Here are some random Scarlette facts for you 🙂 Soon I'll start writing everything that happened from the beginning (with Jeff filling in some gaps as apparently, I spent about two night hallucinating during this whole thing) because I think it will be cathartic for me.
1) Our tiny little girl is feisty! Every couple of hours the nurses tuck her into this little sleep sack and it never fails that when we go back in to see her, she has wriggled herself out of it, is kicking her feet every which way and has her hands up by her face.
2) Yesterday she was breathing well so they took off her little scuba mask and let us see her face! They keep it covered all the time so I haven't seen it since her birthday. I've just been looking at the photos Jeff took in the OR and stroking her little cheeks. We were able to touch her yesterday also and she held my finger again 🙂
3) She tends to stick her arms out in this way that makes her look like a little baby pterodactyl. Thus, I've been calling her Petrie.
4) She also stays under these blue lights that make her look purple. So I've also been calling her my little Avatar baby. Other names for her include Our Little Million Dollar Baby, because her bed in the NICU alone costs $80,000. It's good to joke about those sorts of things so you don't pass out.
5) This is her diaper next to a credit card. It's so tiny, and what's crazy is that when they put it on her, they have to fold it in HALF.
I wish I knew how to convey our deepest gratitude for your continued prayers for her. So much love and prayer for her gives us such hope right now. We talked a lot the other night about the amount of love shown to us and our little girl and we are so humbled and touched by it.
