So one of my favorite bloggers is running a little meme called #letsgetpraisy and I have been cracking up laughing at it for DAYS. DAY’S Y’ALL.
Basically the idea is to find a scripture reference in the lyrics of a song. Obviously, songs about scripture do not count. That would be easy and not at all hilarious.
Every single time I see “Let’s make love in this club” and the reference to Song of Solomon underneath I fall out laughing again. On a serious note, I love the idea that this one beautiful story is interwoven through every part of life, even in the moments we think are unintentional. Nothing is unintentional, for every thing there is a season. And a purpose.
On a non-serious note, this stuff is funny. You can see the link up with all of the different lyrics/verses other bloggers have come up with here and while it’s a contest that you’re supposed to vote in and stuff, I just went through the list laughing so hard that J was all “Honey? WHAT are you doing in there?” He did not find this as hilarious as I do, which I why I then proceeded to call my best friend and read all of the entries aloud to her because she appreciates my sense of humor. And also because her internet is broken.
This is my entry. Obviously it was a tough choice between my two all-time favorites, Taylor Swift and Vanilla Ice. Vanilla Ice won because I love me some Rob Van Winkle. And Taylor Swift was already taken. And so was my next runner up, J.Lo. Don’t be fooled by the rocks that I got.
