The other day Jeff went to get the emissions done on the car. He was standing outside chatting with the emissions guy when they heard a loud crash. They looked across the street and saw that a large rental truck had driven into the drive-through portion of the bank and destroyed one of the middle pillars. Then they watched as the heavily damaged truck backed out and sped off.
About two minutes later, the entire drive-through portion of the bank collapsed. Luckily, no one was IN the drive-through when it happened.
Jeff came home and was telling me the whole story, emphatically with lots of exclamation which is not the norm for my very-laid back husband.
Then he said “And do you know what I kept thinking the whole time this was happening? I kept thinking THIS IS THE SORT OF THING THAT HAPPENS TO MY WIFE!”
And then I was all “I don’t drive trucks into BUILDINGS, Jeff. I’m not THAT bad of a driver.”
And he replied “No, I mean seeing something crazy like that! That sort of thing happens to me like, once a year but it happens to you like, every week!”
And that John M. people, is the truth.
(Please see here, here and here. And also basically the entire eight years of this blog.)
