I have a few giveaways today and the first is a handknit baby hat from Beanie Designs. I picked out that apple hat for my good friend Gwyneth Paltrow. Just kidding, Gwyneth prefers stocking caps. I also chose one of their organic cotton baby hats as a gift for my best friend who is expecting baby number three in December.
The hat actually shipped to me really fast but my postman delivered it to the wrong address in my neighborhood. This is a really great way to meet people.
Here’s how it happened for me: I pulled into the driveway and took Scarlette in, leaving the garage door open because I was in a bit of a hurry. Then I went back down to the car to grab the 175 pound diaper bag and there is some strange lady in my garage waving something around and yelling “HELLO! I KNOW SOMEONE IS HOME IN HERE! I KNOW YOU ARE HOME!”
And I was all frantically trying to remember all that martial arts knowledge I gained from watching the Karate Kid four hundred and thirty three times, just in case I needed to bust out The Crane on this woman when she saw me.
After a round of introductions during which time she continuously attempted to walk past me into my home, she explained that she had my hat. Then she asked me when we moved in and how much we paid for our house. She held the hat hostage as she waited for an answer and an opportunity to dart past me into my laundry room. Obviously, this woman was not born and raised in the south.
“Oh great, I’ve been wondering where this was!” I exclaimed in as I shifted left to counter her forward motion and avoid her line of questioning. It was an intricate dance we were doing. Sure I could have let her in and offered her a glass of sweet tea except I didn’t know her from Adam and her pushiness made me a little uncomfortable.
Y’all didn’t think I could do something as simple as ORDER A HAT OFF THE INTERNET without having an incredibly awkward encounter, did you?
The moral of the story is, there is no moral. I just felt like sharing that moment with y’all. And I’m just really glad that I finally got my hat because I ordered Tiffani this infant hat and I know she’s going to love it.
It’s super soft and I ordered the 0-3 month size so even though she tends to bake big babies, I think it will be a good fit for her newest little love’s arrival this winter. Baby winter hats are one of the cutest things ever.
If infant hats aren’t your thing, they also have baby headbands you can choose from.
One of my lucky readers can choose any hat they like from Beanie Designs! It will make a great baby shower or Christmas gift!
To enter, please leave a comment below telling me which style of hat you love best! The fruit hats? The stocking caps? The animal themed hats? I am partial to ear flap hats myself.
