I’ve been working on my closet overhaul for about a year now. It’s a pretty long process to rework your entire wardrobe but I was completely inspired by Hayley Morgan’s The No-Brainer Wardrobe e-book to streamline what I owned. I wanted a wardrobe that was “fashionably flexible” – one that was made up of items I love and feel good in and that mix and match to create a variety of outfits out of very few pieces. Keeping the actual number of items I own low is important to me for many reasons (one being my utter hatred for laundry) so the flexibility of each piece is paramount when I am making a purchase. I decided to partner with HP on this post to promote their HP + Intel + Project Runway Pin Your Style Contest for two reasons! For one thing, I use Pinterest all the time to help with my wardrobe planning. For another, the HP Envy x2 is cute and tiny, just like my closet. And with it’s tablet to laptop conversion, it’s also totally flexible. It’s a perfect fit, pun totally intended
Here are a few outfits and accessories that I love for their ability to be both fashionable AND flexible:
I love the way my friend Raechel made the striped sweater show above work for two different seasons. It’s the definition of flexible AND fashionable. Also, she’s just super cute.
I absolutely adore this striped gray and white blazer that Stitch Fix sent me. It’s really lightweight so it’s great in the spring weather and it’s perfect for dressing up or down. I can pair it with florals for a fun look or keep it classic with solid colors and clean lines. I also love Lisa Leonard’s jewelry. This necklace is one of my favorite pieces and I like that you can personalize it with meaningful charms. I think her pieces work with with casual and fancy attire alike. (FYI: those necklaces are currently on sale, Happy Mother’s Day to me!)
You can almost always find me wearing ballet flats because they are so versatile and can go easily from jeans to little black dress. I’m currently coveting this pair from J.Crew. They are out of my price range but a girl can dream. I’m also crazy about this infinity scarf that I think just got put on my birthday list. Scarves in general are an easy way to up the fashion power of any outfit. My grandmother never left the house without a scarf on.
And the inspiration piece? The HP Envy x2:
