It’s summertime in Georgia, which means switching out my usual uniform of jeans and a t-shirt for shorts and camisoles. Because it’s H-O-T hot y’all.
I’m not a fan of baring my legs and not just because I’m paler than a member of the Cullen family (the Twilight franchise totally missed their opportunity to cast me in those movies. I’d make a great Alice. I’m quite pixie like and as a bonus, I can actually act.) but because my skin is dryer than the Sahara. That’s an exaggeration. But it is pretty dry.
The folks over at bodycology offered to send me some samples of their new rich&creamy line to try out. They also offered to let me give away a gift basket worth $100 of bodycology products, which is why I said yes. I’m always thinking of y’all. But more about that later, we’re talking about my sexy legs right now.

I tried out the bodycology rich&creamy Body Lotion in Advanced Healing. When I first put it on before bed, it felt a bit sticky and I thought I wasn’t going to like it at all. But that dissipated pretty quickly and when I woke up the next morning, my skin was silky smooth. I was pretty impressed that my skin still felt soft the following morning.
Then I put it to the ultimate test by donning some shorts and lathering up my legs for a picnic. On a hot, humid day in the south. Typically I use some sort of heavy body butter to counteract the dryness, which ends up running down my legs the second I step out in the 97 degree weather. (Did I mention it’s hot here?) But the Body Lotion lasted all day without needing a second application.
The bodycology rich&creamy Lotion also gave my legs just a bit of sheen, which was great because the look I was going for was more Kate Middleton in sheer hose than Pamela Anderson slathered in baby oil.
I’m on day four of wearing the Body Lotion and with the light fragrance and long lasting softness, I think it’s my new go-to product for summer. The only thing that gets low marks? I like to leave my lotion on the counter for quick grab and go applications and have a personal preference for cuter packaging. I know. I’m a sucker for cute packaging.
I also tried the bodycology rich&creamy Body Wash in Nourishing. The first thing you should know is that you can’t use this Body Wash as bubble bath. I like to try that trick when I’m relaxing in the bathtub with a glass of wine and realize that I’m out of bubble bath. But it’s much too creamy for that and won’t bubble at all.
It will, however, lather up nicely and make for a great shave if you also happen to realize you are out of shaving cream. That gets major points from me, but in terms of skin softness I found that I had the best results when using the Body Wash along with the Body Lotion.
What I liked best about both products? They have a great, subtle scent. My husband was a fan which gives it an edge in my book. And at under $5, you get a lot of product for your money.
Except you might be able to get a lot of bodycology product for no money if you enter this giveaway!
