So you might be visiting my blog today because of that whole crazy thing about how I was on The Today Show (which you can watch here).
Tomorrow I’ll post a lot of fun, behind-the-scenes details, like how when they asked if they could interview me I thought they meant ON THE PHONE and also how The Today Show did not find any of my chairs suitable because I am so short. And I didn’t have any other chairs but for some inexplicable reason I still went and looked in my basement for different chairs as though maybe some new chairs would have magically appeared there in my time of chair need.
(Spoiler Alert: They did not. Thanks for nothing, basement.)
It was a wonderful experience.
(And I was only slighty awkward. I think. I haven’t actually seen it yet. It’s possible that I was very awkward and will go into hiding immediately upon viewing the episode.)
I could not feel more grateful for this path that I am on, one that has allowed me to stay home with my daughter at a time when her medical care was so intense while doing something that I love.
I never expected to go into labor at twenty five weeks into my pregnancy, or to have a baby that weighed one pound eight ounces, or to spend six months in the NICU or to come home with feeding tubes and heart monitors and intensive therapies.
But I also never expected the outpouring of love that I found through this online community or that the words I type in this space would allow me to share support for other families who find themselves in their own version of our story. I never expected that she would be so healthy (or that she would tell random store clerks that her mother doesn’t wear any under garments) and I breathe a prayer of thanks countless times a day for the ways in which the Lord has turned what once was mourning into gladness.
In a funny coincidence, today is Parents Of Preemies Day so if you are also a preemie mama, head here to celebrate your little one with us!
What I didn’t mention on the show that might interest you is that I write an e-book on how to grow, market and monetize your blog. I normally sell it and decided it would be fun to give it away for free as a way to say thank you for stopping by. You can click here to subscribe to my monthly newsletter that is full of exclusive free printables & blogging tips and you’ll receive a free copy of the e-book in your inbox!
My hope is that if you are looking to stay home and make an income from blogging, this e-book will be a helpful resource to get you started.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my words, I am ever grateful.
