I really loved keeping track of our garden’s progress through photos last year so I plan to do the same this year. This is one thing about my adult self that I never really envisioned, becoming so passionate about growing things. I kind of hated getting my hands dirty as a kid. And I mean, literally, as in I did not like to have any sort of dirt touching my skin, ever. I was a little bit prissy, y’all.
I love seeing how much ownership Scarlette has taken over the garden, from helping us plant it to her daily chore of watering. And sure, her overwatering totally killed the begonias and she continuously moves my herb markers from planter to planter so that nothing is correctly labeled but I mean, in general it’s really sweet to see her be so enthusiastic about the whole process.
Except for the fact that we planted about five varieties of peppers (because my husband is a little bit intense about his love for peppers) and now without markers I literally have no idea which ones are sweet and which ones are hot. It’s going to be a summer of very surprising meals, that is what I’m saying here.
