I'm not sure there is anything better than broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl. I think it's the new dinner staple around here. The issue is…I'm making it from Campbell's soup in a can. And I am betting it would be a lot better if I made it from homemade. Like, from scratch. So I looked up some recipes and I don't quite understand how to make soup from scratch. I was reading the recipe and thinking "What in the heckfire is chicken bouillon? And why do you put flour in soup?"
The I got to the part where it said we were going to make something called a Roux out of fat and I threw up my hands in defeat, tied on my apron, whisked some fresh broccoli into a can of Campbell's soup, and called it homemade.
Turns out, wearing an apron to open a can of soup makes you feel extra domestic.
