I had originally planned to post this and thought about waiting a few days in light of the tragedy in Boston yesterday. But then I decided to go ahead and publish these words because they are being written in the spirit of the hope and love that exists in humanity.
The time I spent working in the scrapbooking industry is so special to me because in my travels I became acquainted with so many wonderful, kind, talented women and it’s a rare day job that affords you the opportunity of building such meaningful relationships with people. And to continue on in that same spirit of community as I sit down at a computer to publish words on a blog is one of the great blessings of my life.
I have friends who are in need of love and support and prayer and so today I am sharing their stories. They prayed mightily for us when Scarlette was still on the cusp of life and I am both honored and saddened to be doing the same and offering up prayers for their healing.
Kirsten is pregnant with her first child. She found out that she is having a girl. And then she found out that she has breast cancer. I am in awe of her bravery as she shaves off her hair and sits through chemo and prays for God to use this terrible, wonderful time for His glory. She quit blogging a few years ago but has started a new blog to keep everyone updated. You can visit it HERE to see their needs and prayer requests. I asked her if I could post this because I know some of y’all live in/around San Diego and they are looking for milk donors for when the baby is born.
Mandi, who most of y’all know as CandiMandi, was also diagnosed with cancer recently. I read her words “Though really… I just feel hope, and an urgency to live out and enjoy my life with Phil and little Lucy” and I feel overcome because my friends are…my age. I expected us all to grow up and approach thirty with c-words like “careers” and “children” and most definitely not “cancer.” You can read Mandi’s blog HERE and some former SISters (shout out SISters!) have put together a fund for her and you can email me if you would like that information.
All my love.
