Our walk for Team Scarlette takes place exactly one month from today!
I’m especially excited about this year’s March For Babies walk because it falls right after the anniversary of Scarlette’s one year NICU graduation. It’s crazy to think that she is sixteen months old but hasn’t lived with us for an entire year yet. We plan on celebrating by letting Miss S have an full fledged smash cake, complete with real icing, since she wasn’t able to have one on her first birthday.
I’m also excited because my friend Krys is this year’s co-captain and has done a great job organizing everything (unlike last year when I was running this shindig, brought our baby home from the hospital less than a week before the walk and promptly lost my mind.)
One of the reasons we walk is because I am incredibly passionate about setting up support systems for other parents of micro-preemies. Community, specifically this community comprised of you who read here, was the greatest blessing to us when we were scared parents living in a NICU for 156 days. My greatest hope is that we are able to live out the love we were shown and help other families in situations like ours.
If you’re local to the area and would like to walk with our team, shoot me an email!
If you’re not local but would like to support our team, thank you! You can do so by clicking here or on the badge at the top of this blog. Last year y’all helped us raise over $2000 and we were one of the top three family teams in the metro-Atlanta area. I am so humbled and grateful for that support and for our team who spends a lovely Saturday morning in April walking for the tiny babies. Seriously. Thank you.
We’re still looking for some team sponsors! As a little incentive, I’m offering a 125×75 sidebar ad for the month of April to anyone who donates $15 or more to Team Scarlette! It’s a fun way to promote your indie biz and support our team at the same time.
Now I need to find some new sunglasses for said walk because someone who shall remain nameless mistook mine for headband. Actually, it’s pretty cute that she mimics me like that, I’m forever using my sunglasses to hold my hair back. But also very sad that I managed to not lose a pair of sunglasses for FOUR YEARS only to have them broken by the cutest little girl in the world.
