I have a full day of blog design scheduled for today and I am currently debating which movie to play in the background. Hence the pro/con list of two of my favorite literary characters. Sparkly emo vampires? They've got nothing on these guys.
Mister Darcy
- Owns Pemberly. I could see myself there (PRO)
- Calls his house Pemberly. That's a little presumptous (CON)
- Has loads of cash. (PRO)
- Arrogant. (CON but okay because he has loads of cash)
- First name is Fitzwilliam. Definitely could not call him that w/a straight face (CON)
- Inspired the movie Bridget Jones Diary (PRO)
- Says things like " I love you most ardently" (PRO and swoon)
- Does that little smile at the end that makes a 6 hour long movie totally worth the time spent (PRO)
Mister Knightley
- Owns an estate called Donwell Abbey (PRO)
- Donwell is not as cool of a name as Pemberly (CON)
- Also has loads of cash (PRO)
- Is Emma's much older brother in law, which is slightly creepy (CON)
- First name is George. I have a stuffed monkey named George (CON)
- Inspired the movie Clueless (PRO)
- Says things like "Kindly do not shoot my dogs" (PRO for humor)
- Is really, really, really very easy on the eyes (PRO)
It's a tie, but I'm giving it to Mister Knightley, just because I've always wanted to be able to say "But now I may call you my Mister Knightley."
