I decided to play along with Show Us Your Life at Kelly's Korner this week and show you our Christmas tree. If you remember, this is our first real tree due to the tree we inherited catching on fire prior to Christmas.
On Black Friday I drug Jeff and our friend Anthony away from the playstation to help me buy a Christmas tree at Target. We have really tall ceilings in the new house so I thought it would be a really great idea to buy a 7.5 foot tree.
What I did not think about, however, was fitting that tree into our tiny car. Neither did the boys, until we attempted it. Which did not work. Unless we jammed it into the back seat. Except that there were three of us on that trip. So guess who got to ride home with a 7.5 foot Christmas tree in her lap? I'll give you a hint: it wasn't either of the people who actually weigh more than ninety pounds, making their laps slightly more ideal than mine for bearing the weight of AN ENTIRE CHRISTMAS TREE.
We did buy the prelit tree, thanks to all of your suggestions. You can tell we are newlyweds by the lack of ornaments we own. Most of those are from our wedding. Since we were married at Christmas, I think it's fun to keep the tree in our wedding theme so that it's like a little bit of anniversary love throughout the season. The tree skirt is actually the table runner from our wedding table. That's partially because I am sentimental and partially because I'm too cheap to buy a tree skirt.
I love the tree. Jeff peered at the dangling crystals and asked if I'd hung earrings on it, but I think it's growing on him.
