The story:
I have a confession. I bought Britney Spears new album. Only the thing is, I felt quite ashamed about that. Because really, I should not have bought it. Mostly because my husband? He totally disapproves of Britney Spears. And also? He caught me listening to a Britney Spears song on a mix CD in the car and went all "TELL ME YOU DID NOT SPEND MONEY ON THAT!" on me. Which meant that he would generally not approve of me spending money on her new CD.
And normally I don't do things my husband disapproves of. Like how I don't read gossip magazines anymore. Or drive with my left leg tucked up in my seat.
But in an act of hardcore defiance I completely bought the CD.
And then I hid it in my underwear drawer for a week. Because I'm a hardcore coward.
So when Shawn came over to scrapbook, I put Britney Spears in the CD player. And we made a huge mess and then danced around to Womanizer. And we decided to video ourselves doing said dance. So I start recording.
Then we realized that my husband was due home within the next 15 minutes or so. And the mess? It was bad. And also? We were listening to the forbidden CD.
"Lock the door!" I tell Shawn
Just as the lock clicks in place we hear three knocks.
No. It can't be. We have 15 minutes to hide all the evidence of our 15 year old behavior.
"Did you just lock me out?" Jeff asks incredulously through the door.
She unlocks the door and Jeff surveys the room.
"Oh my gosh……" he trails off.
Pause.
"Is that BRITNEY SPEARS?"
So. Totally. Busted.
