Someone recently asked me to list my favorite scrapbook supplies and tips for beginner scrapbookers. I decided that would make a fun weekly feature so I bring you: Scrapbook Saturdays!

Today I’m featuring my go-to supplies. They are not quite essential but I think if this was all I had to scrapbook with I’d be just fine. These are the things I find myself reaching for over and over again. Looking at them, I think they are fairly definitive of my style.

A Designer’s Eye For Scrapbooking – this is hands down my number one recommendation. If you only ever buy one scrapbooking book, make sure it is this one. It will teach you how to make your pages visually pleasing so you never have that “what is it missing?” moment.

Making Memories Edge Scraper Tool – because distressing rocks.

American Crafts Slick Fine Writer – my favorite pen. Note: If you get it all over your brand new desk, toothpaste will take the ink off.

American Crafts Thickers – letter stickers with dimension add a little something extra to your pages. Plus, you can layer them.

Ledger Paper – I think it’s pretty and it had lines to keep my writing straight, but it doesn’t detract from the design of the page.

Photo Corners – I think they visually anchor the photo to the page.

Paper Flowers – I indulge in these by Making Memories. They’re a fun embellishment and the jars have different sizes for layering.

Xyron Tape Runner – practically the only adhesive I use. It’s permanent so I have to really think out my design before sticking anything down, but nothing ever falls off my pages.

Canon Pixma Printer – I like being able to print my photos on a whim. I was on the fence between Canon and Epson and the Canon was more afforable. I like that I only have to change one ink at a time and the quality of the pictures it prints is always high.

Love Your Handwriting – it really did make me love my handwriting!
