1) Today I have a scrapbook layout featured in this article about using vintage items on your scrapbook pages.

2) I am listening to this song by Nickel Creek. I love how down-home country and catchy it is on a friday.

3) Getting myself psyched up about renovating our new home by reading this girl's lovely D.I.Y. renovation blog

4) Enjoying the transition to autumn. I love fall in the South. Thinking about trying my hand at this pumpkin chandelier for our new porch.

5) Daydreaming about our budget allowing me to buy this dress. Also, in my daydream, it looks really cute on me and I am 2 feet taller and able to pull it off.

Asked the kids to smile and apparently Ridley took that as a CHALLENGE.

Two important things to note: 1) swipe to see every face my son proceeded to make INSTEAD of smiling and
2) yes I did give my four year old an empty cup to hold for photos before I filled it up with hot chocolate because I KNEW HOW THIS WAS GONNA GO.

We ventured out for our annual tradition of driving around town looking at Christmas lights while drinking hot chocolate + singing Christmas songs and while I couldn’t do the latter two on account of how I am recovering from tonsillitis, this year still managed to be extra joyful.

Our town Christmas parade was canceled due to COVID so instead, everyone decided to have a drive-by Christmas light festival. And as we drove from street to street in our small town it was just so touching to see so many of our neighbors go an extra measure this year to help make the holidays magical in a year where so much is different. The kids were DELIGHTED by the sheer amount of twinkling houses there were to wonder at this year - but the more we drove the more my heart was moved by the way everyone came together, despite all our isolation, to share the spirit of the season.

🌈 “Darling, I'm just tryin' to tell ya that there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head.”

My SIL sent me this photo she snapped of Ridley and I ran my finger across the screen to trace the rainbow enveloping him because, well, swipe to see what I wrote in my latest book about this unexpected blessing of a baby and the hope of promise. ♥️

Everytime I come around your city #blingbling ✨ I had headshots done at work the other day and when I shared in my stories y’all all wanted to know about my earrings and my coat and my fake eyelashes. Okay, actually none of y’all asked about my fake eyelashes but every time I’m wearing them I have a compulsive need to announce “I’M WEARING FALSE EYELASHES” because, I don’t know, why am I like this?

Anyhow, my coworkers were all “those are the most natural fake eyelashes we’ve ever seen” and there IS a chance they are all just bold-face lying to me because that is called “Southern Politeness” around here but I promised to link them on account of how good #falselashes that don’t make you feel like a Kardashian are hard to find. And I’m a giver, y’all.
