Autumn is the start of cold and flu season. I mean, it’s full of other fun things like pumpkin spice lattes and apple picking and knee high boots. But when you have a three year old you basically just equate fall with runny noses.
Puffs sent me their new SoftPack tissues to try out. They are basically full sized boxes of tissues only they are packaged in the flexible soft packaging, much like the mini-packagages of tissues that you can throw in your purse. The problem with the mini-packages is that they contain like, eight tissues. When my kid has a runny nose I need way more than eight tissues in a single outing. I’m always throwing multiple mini packages in my bags. So I love the full-size SoftPacks because I carry a big bag so I just threw the whole thing in my purse.
The other day I was sharing a hotel room with a friend and I had a cold so I took them out of my bag and put them on the nightstand. When she saw them she asked “Wait, where did those tissues come from?” So I was like “Oh, I brought them with on account of how I could not be sure that this hotel would have soft enough tissues for me.” And then she was all “OF COURSE YOU DID.”
(I also put one in the console of my car because that is the other place that I never have enough tissues.)
Anyhow, I figured that I’d show you what else is in my bag at any given time during the fall. My bag is from Stella & Dot and I love it because it has a lot of inner pockets and is really roomy. You can unsnap the bottom to make it even larger, so I mostly carry this instead of a diaper bag now that Scarlette is older.
Also, you can basically hashtag this picture #momlife
Puffs SoftPack for toddler runny noses. I really like that the packaging is flexible so that I can tuck it into my Olsen-Twin-Esque-Oversized-Bag. It’s the same size as the cardboard packaging but takes up so much less space. Plus, no paper cuts.
Honest Co. wipes for potty accidents (not pictured but in my bag: a full change of clothes and extra undies.)
This cute Vera Bradley wallet/phone combo wristlet that I picked up on Zulily.
Coloring book carrying case.
Juice boxes.
Sunglasses and sunglasses case. Jeanette gave me these Ray-Bans six years ago and I have somehow managed to not lose them. I have lost every cheap pair of Target sunglasses I have ever owned so apparently the key to not losing sunglasses is to have expensive ones.
Business cards from Minted, because people always ask me what I do for a living and then I feel real awkward trying to explain blogging and then I just give them one of these so I feel legit.
Thieves sanitizing wipes. Because the store is inevitable out of cart wipes during cold and flu season and because I swear by my Thieves products for warding off sickness. I basically bathe the shopping carts with these. People look at me a little bit funny.
Hello mint breath spray. I love this because it’s alcohol free and also because it looks like Wall-E’s girlfriend.
J. R. Watkins lotion. Cold weather makes my hands really dry.
Sugar lip balm. Better than any chapstick I have ever used.
A random purple rhinoceros car. This item changes frequently. Scarlette thinks it is hilarious to put random items in my purse.
A notebook and pen because I’m always stopping to write down ideas for blog posts or the book or interesting conversations that I overhear people having when I am out to lunch. It is only slightly annoying to be friends with me.
