My husband turned thirty this past week and I always appreciate an occasion to get all dressed up. Whenever it’s my turn to choose our date nights, one of my requirements is always “Something we can get all dressed up for” (much to my Adidas-track-pant-loving-husband’s chagrin.)

This one is for y’all because I know how much you guys love Shabby Apple. I had actually only ever purchased accessories from them in the past so I was excited to try out some clothing. I chose this retro-style dress because I liked the color and also because it was on sale.
(I mean, they sent me the dress c/o and I still picked one that was on sale. I have a problem.)
So let’s talk about how short I am. This dress is above the knee on the model and I ordered an XXS. I’m definitely not leggy enough to pull this length off and it sort of highlights my bowlegs. I am not fond of drawing attention to my bowlegs, y’all. So I hemmed it. I like the fit much better with a little lot of length lost. So be warned that if you’re five feet tall, you’ll probably need to whip out a needle and thread.
So what are your thoughts on this dress? I love the color and the ruching at the bust, mostly because I read that makes you look less flat chested. And we all know I need all the help I can get in that department, ACCORDING TO THE LADY AT THE DMV.
