This post brought to you by World Market. All opinions are 100% mine.
So when World Market asked if I wanted to create a little event to celebrate Father’s day this year, I responded with an enthusiatic “YES” because I knew just what I wanted to do for Jeff and I was sure that I would be able to find what I needed at World Market because, well, have you ever BEEN to a World Market? I basically love everything they carry. Which meant that this shopping expedition took FOCUS because I got distracted by all sorts of shiny things.
Like this amazing end table.
But since I wasn’t shopping for me, I tore myself away from the beautiful egg shell blue (AND LIBRARY HANDLES, Y’ALL.) and headed towards the BBQ & Grilling section.
We’ve been working on making our back porch more inviting because in the spring and summer we spend a lot of time out there. Southern summers are just way too hot for slaving over a stove so we tend to grill often. Jeff wanted new skewers that would rotate easily on the grill so that’s what I was hunting and I found these awesome flexible ones that I know he will love.
Then I picked up this beautiful woven willow lantern for our patio table to house our citronella candle because I’m against mosquitos. Seriously, let’s discuss mosquitos. What purpose do they serve, other than providing me with an excuse to buy pretty patio lanterns?
I also grabbed a few driftwood chargers because I am also against doing dishes and while these will look beautiful under our china, they will also be very handy when we use paper plates. Let’s all be realistic here. I’m talking to you, Pinterest.
And finally I picked up a galvanized pail to use as a small ice bucket for chilling our drinks. We have a large one for parties but I thought this one looked rustic and romantic for the nights where our dates consist of putting the baby to bed and sitting under the patio lights, the perfect size for just the two of us. Then I filled it with an assortment of beer I found at World Market because beer is basically one of the best Father’s Day Gifts ever. After cream soda, that is. We’re hardcore like that.
And because Jeff’s favorite thing in the entire world is assorted Haribo candies (he gets some for every holiday from me) I was stoked to find about fifteen different varieties of those so I stocked up on some of those as well. Gummy candies make for a very classy affair, y’all.
Here are some photos of me looking very excited about finding all the beer and candy:
Tip: Wear makeup before taking selfies. Also, people look at you funny when you look like you are twelve years old and take photos of yourself in front of alcoholic beverages.
